Event Horizon is a focus and Screen Time protection app. It helps you create focus sessions, schedules, shield lists, and protection rules on your device.

Event Horizon is designed to keep your focus data local whenever possible. The current version does not require an Event Horizon account and does not upload your focus sessions, shield lists, schedules, protection logs, or Screen Time selections to an Event Horizon server.

Information Stored Locally

Event Horizon may store the following information on your device:

This information is used to run the app’s focus and protection features.

Screen Time and Shielding Data

Event Horizon uses Apple Screen Time APIs, including FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, ManagedSettingsUI, and DeviceActivity, to let you select apps, websites, or categories to shield.

Apple provides privacy-preserving tokens for selected apps, websites, and categories. Event Horizon stores these tokens locally so it can apply your protection rules. Event Horizon does not receive the names of all apps installed on your device.

Protection Logs

Event Horizon may keep local logs for protection, release, emergency, recovery, and schedule events. These logs are used to help you understand what happened during a focus session and to support recovery if protection state becomes inconsistent.
